The Art of Scamming and How You Can be Aware

Just this morning, I picked up a paper and read an ad for a seminar warning folks to come in to a Wills & Trusts Seminar to hear about crucial new developments in the law. I looked carefully at the ad and noticed that the laws mentioned were not new, ranging from a couple years old to a couple dozen years old. The morals of this story are:

1. Our clients should call us directly with questions about their documents. If you go to someone else’s seminar they may try to sell you a “new” Trust you do not need.
2. Be careful in general of scams.
